160Sonnets is an ongoing writing project by multidisciplinary artist Noah Todd, associated with his arts production umbrella The Brookside Project and his video essays on arts process.
William Shakespeare's sonnet collection, gathered and published together in a quarto in 1609, numbers 154 poems. Considering the additional handful of sonnets in a small subset of his plays—some noticeably loose in their structure—the goal for this sonnet collection was set to 160 as a comprehensive exploration of the form.
Learn the form of the sonnet with this excellent breakdown by the Poetry Foundation. Then, stay there and read more poetry. Then, write.
Life is short, and art long.

160Sonnets, like all Brookside projects, celebrates human intelligence, curiosity, and ingenuity, with large language models and any artificial intelligence tools to come in the future never being incorporated into any stage of the artistic process.
